For Eastern Europeans these housing estates must be familiar. Not so much for Western people. The photo was shot at Kőbánya. These homes - if not renovated - provide extreme heat at summer and high heating bills at winter - not kidding. They and many more similar homes were built after the wars to provide homes for people - especially for factory workers. Nowadays these are the cheapest flats available so many young couples choose to move in such homes.

Merry Christmas!

Boldog Karácsonyt Mindenkinek!

At Vörösmarty Square you can find a Christmas market each year with local craftsman’s works. About 40% of the visitors are foreigners.

Hortobágy is especially rich in birds. These are a group of herons.

My personal favourite location is Hortobágy (opens in a new window). There you’ll find beautiful nature and horsemen whom we call “csikós" (pronounce: chie-kowsh). They handle up to five horses at the same time. They start practicing at a very young age and build a very good relationship with these beautiful animals.

Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) again. Here you can see OMIKK (National Technical Information Centre and Library). It’s connected by a skyway or bridge to the main building of BME.
